The Rolls Royce Phantom as we see today is the flagship model which was relaunched or rebooted by BMW when they bought this brand in 2003. Since then this has been an iconic car synonymous with luxury, wealth and success.
The cars are built by hand in Goodwood to every customer’s specification. Rolls Royce are true to their tradition in that there are only three robots in the whole plant that only do the bulk painting. Every other aspect of the car is done by hand and their sales target is only 1000 cars per year!
What’s unique about the phantoms are –
- Customers choose from a selection of 44,000 colours for the bodywork and specify also the colour of leather they would like.
- Features coach doors (which are also known colloquially as suicide doors). These open outwards which is makes the rolls Royce phantom the perfect wedding car for a chauffeur to open the door and plenty of space for the bride to get out of her wedding car.
- The front or rear doors have stunning umbrellas in compartments. The clever part is that the compartments are Teflon coated which makes them dry out faster as well. Genius.
- The spirit of ecstasy (the lady on the bonnet) has a great anti theft mechanism that automatically retracts if someone tries to tamper with it. We have had to get a special code so that we can tie ribbons so that you can have wedding ribbons on your chauffeur driven rolls Royce phantom wedding car.
- The RR logos on each wheel are weighted and on individual bezels which means the logos always stay upright even when the wheels are moving. This is a great effect when recording your wedding videos.
The Rolls Royce phantom is when it all began for CDC. From humble beginnings we started off managing wedding venues and after realising a gap in the market for our brides, went out and purchased the first wedding car of our fleet.
Manchester is a massive city with a multitude of wedding venues and corporate event venues dotted around this huge metropolitan. The market is huge and it made perfect sense as we are from the area to start off chauffeur Driven cars from here.
We launched rolls Royce hire Manchester website and haven’t looked back since. We quickly started getting popular with wedding planners and brides alike looking for chauffeur driven wedding cars in Manchester through our website rolls Royce hire Manchester and before long were working directly with wedding venues in Manchester. Our first solid partnership with a wedding venue would be with the midland hotel in Manchester. This is iconic as this is the very hotel that Rolls met Royce and launched the automobile brand.
The partnership with the midland hotel brought about a new stream of business for us and that is the corporate side and weekday business that was predominantly day time hours. Here we learned the skills that we impart to our chauffeurs and that is etiquette and efficiency which we have instilled in our wedding car hires.
Soon after that we started setting our sights on expanding into Cheshire and its wealthy suburbs. It made perfect sense as Cheshire is an area of a lot of wealth and there wasn’t a good service offering rolls Royce phantom hires in Cheshire. This is when we launched wedding cars Cheshire to serve this market with modern prestige chauffeur driven wedding cars.
Things really took off with our partnership with peckforton castle and working a few weddings there really got us noticed. Then came wedding fayres and we expanded further down south of Cheshire to the Macclesfield area as well. Every weekend (and most weekdays) were now getting filled and it was time for a second rolls Royce phantom due to popular demand.
In 2010 after 2 years in business, we put our deposit down for our second rolls Royce phantom for our growing service offering prestigious wedding car hire in Manchester and Cheshire. With now effectively double the capacity available to us, it was time to expand now into pastures further afield.
The next logical move was to expand our service offering to merseyside and the surrounds and this is when we launched rolls Royce hire Liverpool which catered to the over 4 million population in Liverpool and the surrounding merseyside area. With a region filled with culture and some really iconic venues, this area soon became one of our favourites.
Thornton manor was our first booking in merseyside supplying a rolls Royce phantom wedding car for a great couple who were recommended us by a previous customer. The photographs and videos from this wedding were simply stunning with a venue like that, it was a great platform to market our wedding car hire service in Liverpool.
Soon word spread about chauffeur driven cars in Liverpool and the surrounds and we got invited to a major wedding fayre in the echo arena and we haven’t looked back since.
Now that we had worked our way through Manchester, Cheshire and merseyside, the next logical step was to expand into Lancashire. With such an amazing backdrop with the lakes just a stone’s throw away, we immediately fell in love with Lancashire. Even so much that we setup a new office and premises in Bolton to house our growing fleet of wedding cars.
Rolls Royce hire Lancashire was next born to service Lancashire with wedding cars for hire. Samlesbury hall hotel was our first booking in the Lancashire area and working with such a stunning wedding venue gave us the recognition we needed in the Lancashire area to grow primarily through word of mouth due to happy customers experiencing our wedding cars in lancashire
By 2014, it was time for a third rolls Royce phantom, we had added other cars such as Bentley flying Spurs and rolls Royce ghost but as our phantoms were both fully booked, it was time for the third phantom. Late 2014, we took delivery of our third phantom and it was time to expand to the east now.
Next on our sights was Yorkshire. This area had been previously avoided by us due to intense competition but after extensive market and competitor analysis. We were advised that what Yorkshire needed was a chauffeur driven wedding car service that was the next level and not just a taxi service (which was what the Yorkshire area were getting). With our fleet and expertise, we were confident that we could take on this market that is heavily undercut in price.
It was a gamble but it paid off. The Marriott in Leeds was our first foray into the area and they chose us because they understood that the service we provided was more in line with their brand and image and Rolls Royce Hire Leeds was born
Chauffeur driven cars has grown from strength to strength and we keep things simple here and that is put the customer first and the rest will follow.
